The OceanGate submarine went missing on June 18 while conducting a survey of the Titanic’s wreckage site. This incident caused international concern as efforts were made to locate the submarine and its five occupants. Authorities later determined that the submersible experienced a devastating collapse during its descent into the underwater depths, resulting in the unfortunate loss of all lives on board.

The statement released on Tuesday by the Coast Guard explains that the Marine Board of Investigation (MBI) has successfully retrieved and relocated the remaining debris and evidence of the Titan submersible from the floor of the North Atlantic Ocean. This salvage mission was carried out as a follow-up operation.

The Coast Guard reported that they retrieved additional presumed human remains from the wreckage of Titan. Skilled medical professionals from the United States carefully collected and transported these remains for analysis. The evidence was subsequently taken to an undisclosed U.S. port where it will be cataloged and further examined.

The salvage mission involved the participation of both the National Transportation Safety Board in the United States and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.

The Marine Board of Investigation plans to collaborate with the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and other international investigative organizations to arrange a collective examination of the retrieved Titan debris. The objective is to establish a coordinated approach for conducting forensic testing and determining the subsequent course of action.

“The MBI will continue evidence analysis and witness interviews ahead of a public hearing regarding this tragedy,” the statement expressed.

The individuals who lost their lives in the implosion included Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate Expeditions; Hamish Harding, a British billionaire and owner of Action Aviation; Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a French dive expert; and Shahzada Dawood, a prominent Pakistani businessman, along with his son, Suleman.
