Approximately 2,000 American military personnel have received instructions to ready themselves for potential deployment in order to provide assistance to Israel, as confirmed by a defense official.

The troops have not been assigned a specific destination at the moment and it is not guaranteed that they would be sent to Israel or Gaza. If they are deployed, their destination would be a neighboring country where they would be ready to provide assistance to Israel in its conflict with Hamas, as stated by the official.

Personnel, who were given instructions, were already in a state of readiness to be deployed within 96 hours, which now has been reduced to 24 hours.

Personnel being sent on deployment would consist of military personnel with diverse backgrounds, including medical assistance and explosive.

The U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group has been deployed by the Defense Department to the eastern Mediterranean Sea, joining the U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford as a demonstration of solidarity with Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces have gathered military personnel and equipment at the Gaza border, readying themselves to escalate a counterattack through an air, sea, and land assault.

Over 2,800 individuals have lost their lives, while another 10,859 have sustained injuries in the Gaza region. Similarly, in Israel, the death toll stands at 1,400, with 3,900 individuals having been wounded.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday was in Tel Aviv, where he was met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war Cabinet in the Defense Ministry for more than seven-and-a-half hours, into early Tuesday local time. During the meeting, there were two rounds of air raids and orders to shelter in place.

Biden emphasized that it would be a significant error for Israel to occupy Gaza. Despite Israel’s indications of preparing for a ground invasion amid a worsening humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian enclave, Biden has stressed the importance of safeguarding civilians. The United States has been actively working to address shortages of essential supplies such as food, water, and gas in the region.

Furthermore, Biden expressed the view that Hamas should be completely eradicated, emphasizing the need for the existence of a Palestinian Authority and a viable path toward establishing a Palestinian state.
